About the position

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking fully cleared Data Center Technicians to join our Infrastructure Operations team. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving a variety of data center infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, and networking problems. Technicians will engage in physical activities related to data center operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety and security while maintaining one of the world's largest information system infrastructures.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in physical data center activities including planning and tracking capacity, rack deployment, and rack cabling.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in the data center environment.
  • Lift and move materials up to 49 pounds each.
  • Work in cramped and/or elevated locations and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and stretching.
  • Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day, and safely ascend and descend ladders and stairs.
  • Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
  • Take ownership of technical issues and engage other teams for resolution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or A+ or CND or Network+ or Security+ certification.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with hardware platforms such as Dell or HP.
  • Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications.
  • Previous experience working in a Data Center environment, including racking and stacking gear and cable management.
  • Associate's degree in IT-related field plus two years of progressively responsible experience.
