About the position

As a Data Center Technician at AWS, you will be a key member of a diverse team responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the infrastructure that supports AWS's global cloud services. Your role will involve resolving technical issues, creating documentation, and supporting junior staff while ensuring the highest standards of safety and security. You will also have the opportunity to execute small projects independently and assist in larger projects, all while working in a flexible and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, escalating complex problems as necessary.
  • Create and maintain documentation on supported technologies and convey standard operating procedures (SOPs) to junior staff.
  • Execute small projects independently and assist in planning and executing larger local projects.
  • Act as an escalation point for junior technicians and support team members.
  • Maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in an IT-related field, applicable certifications, and equivalent professional or military experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in computer hardware and technical troubleshooting.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.

Nice-to-haves

  • Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications.
  • Experience with CISCO, Juniper, and other commodity networking devices.
  • Experience working in a Data Center environment, including racking and stacking equipment and cable management.
  • Familiarity with IT hardware concepts such as RAID, SAN, and x86 architecture.
  • Experience with Linux administration and command line interface.
