About the position

The Data Center Technician role at AWS Infrastructure Services involves maintaining and troubleshooting data center infrastructure, ensuring the continuous operation of AWS global infrastructure. Technicians will engage in physical activities related to capacity planning, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack management, while collaborating with a diverse team to uphold safety and security standards.

Responsibilities

• Engage in physical data center activities including planning and tracking capacity, rack deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Lift and move materials up to 49 pounds each.
• Work in cramped and/or elevated locations and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
• Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day, and safely ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways.
• Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
• Take ownership of technical issues and engage other teams for resolution.
• Improve effectiveness through process innovation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or A+, CND, Network+, or Security certification.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Hands-on experience with hardware platforms (e.g., Dell, HP) is a plus.
• Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications is a plus.
• Previous experience working in a Data Center environment is preferred.
• Associate's degree in IT-related field plus two years of progressively responsible experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security certification.
• Hands-on experience with hardware platforms (e.g., Dell, HP).
• Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications.
• Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management).
