About the position

The Data Center Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting infrastructure within an enterprise-sized data center in Brecksville, OH. This role requires hands-on expertise in installing and removing hardware, managing network and storage connections, and ensuring the smooth operation of computer servers and networks. The technician will also provide technical support and collaborate with various technology teams to resolve issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Install and remove hardware into racks efficiently and neatly.
  • Collaborate with other technology teams to determine network and storage connections.
  • Enter Service Requests for network/storage/telecom connections.
  • Document work orders and update records in the Data Center Inventory system (dcTrack).
  • Monitor Incident, Requests, and Changes in the ITSM system (Service Now).
  • Work on Incident, Change, and Service Request tickets as needed.
  • Perform the initial configuration of Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
  • Manage records in the Data Center Energy Management and Power Monitoring Software (PowerIQ).
  • Provide assistance and act as a technical consultant to Data Center users.
  • Attend project meetings and meet or exceed project deadlines.
  • Maintain the neatness of all Data Centers.
  • Arrange delivery of equipment to other sites.
  • Be on-call as scheduled.
  • Work either Day Shift, Swing Shift, or Mid Shift including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in a Data Center Technician role.
  • Proficient in Linux Administration.
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds.
  • 4+ years of experience working as a Data Center Technician.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
