The Critical Facilities Data Center Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the data center's electrical, mechanical, and fire life safety systems. This position is essential for maintaining the highest levels of uptime for our customers while managing operational costs effectively. The technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including the maintenance and repair of critical systems, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The technician will also work closely with contractors and internal teams to ensure that all services are delivered to the highest standards, and that any issues are resolved quickly to minimize downtime. In this role, the technician will develop creative strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Responsibilities will include managing mechanical systems such as chilled water systems and HVAC units, as well as electrical systems including power distribution and backup generators. The technician will also oversee fire life safety systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Regular inspections and testing of systems will be required to ensure optimal performance, and the technician will be expected to provide feedback on existing processes to improve overall operations. The technician will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure, and must be able to adapt to changing priorities.
