About the position

The Data Center Technician role at AWS involves supporting the operation and maintenance of AWS global infrastructure, ensuring the availability and reliability of data center operations. Technicians will engage in hardware and network diagnostics, physical repairs, and participate in an on-call rotation. The position requires collaboration with a diverse team to uphold safety and security standards while providing efficient service to customers.

Responsibilities

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
• Work in an environment that operates 24/7 and participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed.
• Perform hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair.
• Install equipment and create documentation for data center operations.
• Innovate solutions and troubleshoot problems within the Data Center Space.

Requirements

• 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• High school or equivalent diploma.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in a Data Center environment.
• Understanding of network design, protocols, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of storage devices.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• An Associates degree or 2+ years of professional or military experience in an IT related field.
