About the position

The Data Center Technician role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) involves supporting the operations of AWS data centers, ensuring their availability and reliability. Technicians will engage in hardware and network diagnostics, physical repairs, and participate in an on-call rotation. The position requires collaboration with a diverse team to maintain high safety and security standards while innovating solutions to complex problems in a 24/7 operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair.
• Install equipment and create documentation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
• Work independently and collaboratively with a team to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively.

Requirements

• 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• High school or equivalent diploma.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in a Data Center environment.
• Understanding of network design, protocols and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of storage devices.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• An Associates degree or 2+ years of professional or military experience in an IT related field.
