About the position

The Data Center Technician role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) involves maintaining and troubleshooting data center infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of AWS global infrastructure. Technicians will engage in physical activities related to capacity planning, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack management, while collaborating with a diverse team to uphold safety and security standards.

Responsibilities

• Engage in physical data center activities including planning and tracking capacity, rack deployment, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Lift and move materials up to 49 pounds each.
• Work in cramped and/or elevated locations and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
• Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day, and safely ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways.
• Work in a noisy environment and support 24/7 operations, including shifts longer than 8 hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or A+, CND, Network+, or Security+ certification.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with hardware platforms such as Dell or HP.
• Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications.
• Previous experience working in a Data Center environment, including racking & stacking gear and cable management.
• Associate's degree in IT-related field plus two years of progressively responsible experience.
