About the position

The Data Center Technician position at Amazon Data Services, Inc. involves ensuring the overall availability and reliability of data center operations. Technicians will perform hardware and network diagnostics, physical repairs, and participate in an on-call rotation. The role requires collaboration with a diverse team to maintain high safety and security standards while providing efficient service to customers. Technicians will also be responsible for installing equipment, creating documentation, and innovating solutions to complex problems within the data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
• Install equipment and create documentation for processes and repairs.
• Innovate solutions and participate in site-level project work.
• Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
• Take ownership of technical issues and engage other teams for resolution.
• Work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Requirements

• 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Understanding of network design, protocols, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of storage devices.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate's degree or 2+ years of professional or military experience in an IT-related field.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to react quickly and prioritize work effectively.
