The Data Center Technician Engineer I role at SPECTRAFORCE is centered around the reverse logistics of decommissioned data center equipment. This position is crucial in managing the lifecycle of parts that are retired or removed during repair processes. The technician will be involved in the intake process where parts are meticulously inspected and evaluated. Following this, the parts are sent to an on-site laboratory for functional testing and may undergo basic repairs as necessary. The technician's role is transactional but emphasizes quality over quantity, ensuring that each part is handled with care and precision. Once the testing is complete, the technician will determine the highest value recovery path for the parts. This could involve reusing parts as spares, integrating them into new equipment, or, if there is no internal demand, liquidating or recycling them. The role requires a strong IT background and familiarity with hardware, particularly PCBAs (printed circuit board assemblies). Additionally, warehouse experience is essential to navigate the logistics of handling and processing these parts effectively. This position operates on the second shift, from 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM, Monday through Friday, providing a structured work schedule that allows for focused work during the evening hours. SPECTRAFORCE, established in 2004, is recognized as one of the largest and fastest-growing diversity-owned staffing firms in the United States, serving a wide range of industries and committed to delivering exceptional client service through innovative solutions.
