About the position

CoreSite's Data Center Technician I will assist in maintaining the operational integrity, security, and regulatory compliance of the assigned data center. This entry-level position involves learning from more experienced technicians and performing various tasks related to security operations, troubleshooting, and customer service in a mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operational integrity and security of the data center.
• Monitor and respond to mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and security systems.
• Ensure data center problems are identified and repaired quickly.
• Assist in customer interaction and service delivery.
• Write concise and accurate reports on incidents and operations.
• Escalate data center incidents and respond to alarms as necessary.
• Learn and gain experience in data center operations and equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience in customer service or security industry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal staff.
• Good troubleshooting skills and ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with CCTV and access control security systems.
• Ability to operate hand and machine tools and electrical tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a mission-critical facility is a plus.
