The Data Center Technician I role at Belcan involves troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues within a data center environment. The technician will be responsible for deploying new data center alarming functionality, interpreting electrical schematics, and ensuring accurate alarm configurations for data center operations. This position requires both independent project execution and collaboration with management on larger projects, emphasizing attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware infrastructure issues.
  • Execute small projects independently and assist in planning larger projects with management.
  • Gather alarming parameters from data center design documents, primarily electrical schematics.
  • Determine parameters for data center electrical alarms based on amperage, voltage, and associated equipment.
  • Encode parameters into a structured format for software to generate alarm configurations.
  • Monitor alarm performance, correct errors, and deliver production alarms to data center operators.
  • Translate non-structured data from schematics into structured, standardized data.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a data center environment.
  • Familiarity with data center electrical diagrams and controls systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel for managing large data sets.
  • Experience reading engineering documentation and schematics.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
