About the position

The Data Center Technician I position at Belcan in Seattle, WA, is a contract role lasting for three months. This position requires a skilled individual who can troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within a data center environment. The technician will be responsible for executing small projects independently while collaborating with their manager on larger projects. A significant aspect of this role involves deploying new data center alarming functionality, which includes gathering alarming parameters from data center design documents, particularly electrical schematics. In this role, the technician will utilize electrical schematics to determine critical parameters such as amperage and voltage at alarm locations, as well as the equipment associated with the points to be alarmed. The technician will encode these parameters into a structured format that can be interpreted by the software to generate alarm configurations. Additionally, the technician will monitor the resulting alarm performance, correct any errors, and ensure that production alarms are delivered to data center operators. Candidates must possess experience in reading engineering documentation and schematics, with the ability to translate non-structured data into structured, standardized formats. Proficiency in Excel is essential, as the technician will manage large datasets and report progress and blockers effectively to the team. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to ensure clear reporting and collaboration within the team.
