About the position

The Data Center Technician II role at TEKsystems involves supporting NVIDIA's IT Datacenter operations. This position focuses on troubleshooting server issues, performing hardware installations, and assisting network administrators with various tasks related to server management. The role is essential for maintaining the functionality of data center operations and ensuring that all equipment is up to date and operational.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot a variety of servers and isolate the problems encountered.
• Order replacement parts, install them in servers, and ship back defective parts to vendors.
• Update firmware on servers to ensure the latest version is installed.
• Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
• Assist network admins with server issues, including replacing broken cables and re-routing cables.
• Temporarily rack and stack servers or switches in cabinets and cable them for remote access.
• Assist network admins with specific requests regarding servers or switches.
• Support Level 1 responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements

• Expert level experience in troubleshooting and hardware installation in a data center environment.
• Strong skills in break/fix scenarios and cable management.
• Ability to work well within a team and maintain a positive attitude.
