About the position

The Data Center Technician III is responsible for ensuring the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the facilities and data center systems, including electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, and communications infrastructure. This role requires expert knowledge and involves developing strategies to minimize operational costs and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operational integrity and regulatory compliance of facilities and data center systems.
  • Manage mechanical systems including chilled water systems, HVAC systems, and humidification systems.
  • Oversee electrical power distribution from utility/generator to customer load.
  • Maintain fire life safety systems including wet sprinkler systems and detection devices.
  • Handle telecommunications responsibilities such as cabling infrastructure management and customer cage build outs.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years in a mechanical/electrical position within critical facilities (data center, hospital, or power plant experience preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with large commercial and industrial systems including chilled water systems, HVAC equipment, and electrical distribution.
  • Ability to pass an extensive background check including criminal history and employment verification.
  • Experience with fiber and copper communications cabling installation and termination.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing IT hardware, servers, and network switches.
