About the position

The Data Center Technician III role at Astreya Partners involves assisting with the installation, maintenance, and management of hardware in a data center environment. This position requires a combination of technical skills, including knowledge of computer hardware, networking, and cabling, as well as strong organizational and communication abilities. The technician will work under the supervision of site operations management and is expected to follow established procedures while ensuring quality and efficiency in their work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, moving, and decommissioning of hardware in the data center.
• Confirm and label devices, racks, and cables accurately.
• Utilize a standard ticketing system for customer communications.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety policies while performing tasks.
• Document processes and server installations as required.
• Participate in data center maintenance activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and 2 to 5 years of related experience or training.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to respond to on-call requests within 1 hour.
• Experience with cabling systems (power/copper/fiber) based on ticket requirements.
• Knowledge of CAT5e and CAT6 copper cable and fiber optics.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Understanding of computer hardware and networking components.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center best practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications in Data Center technologies are desired.
• Hands-on experience in electrical, HVAC, and data center infrastructures.
