About the position

The Facilities and Data Center Technician IV is responsible for ensuring the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the data center's electrical, mechanical, fire life safety systems, and communications infrastructure. This role requires expert knowledge and involves developing strategies to minimize operational costs while improving efficiency. The technician will work closely with the Data Center Manager to maximize customer uptime and ensure quick resolution of data center issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage chilled water systems and components, HVAC systems, and humidification systems.
• Oversee electrical power distribution from the Utility/Generator main switchgear through UPS systems to customer loads.
• Ensure compliance and functionality of fire life safety systems, including wet sprinkler systems and pre-action systems.
• Handle communications infrastructure management, including structured cabling and customer space management.
• Collaborate with the Data Center Manager to maximize customer uptime and ensure quality service delivery from contractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in a mechanical/electrical position within critical facilities, preferably in a data center, hospital, or power plant.
• Experience with large commercial and industrial systems, including chilled water systems, HVAC equipment, and electrical generation and distribution.
• Ability to pass an extensive background check.
