About the position

The Data Center Technician (L1 2nd Shift) is responsible for troubleshooting various connectivity issues within the data center, including console, server power supply, and network connectivity problems. This role involves mentoring less experienced technicians and assisting with the installation and troubleshooting of SSDs and NVMe drives in servers. The technician will also perform basic hardware diagnostics and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues related to server builds and network connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic hardware diagnostic and troubleshooting of servers.
• Escalate complex issues to Senior Data Center Technicians as necessary.
• Troubleshoot basic Linux OS level issues on all servers.
• Install new SSDs and NVMe drives into existing servers.
• Assist engineers in troubleshooting autobuild (Linux Kickstart) nodes that do not build properly.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues at the physical layer.
• Resolve manually-generated tickets through cross-functional collaboration.
• Process server nodes for decommissioning and prepare them for ITAM vendor pickup.
• Assist with hardware installations outside the scope of quarterly organic growth.

Requirements

• 2+ years in a Data Center Technician/Engineering role.
