We are renowned for our technical excellence and leading innovations, and for making a difference to our clients and society. Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion; it's a place where you can grow, belong, and thrive. The Data Center Technician provides a working level of data center knowledge and is responsible for the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the data center electrical, mechanical, and fire life safety systems. The Data Center Technician maintains and follows the processes that maximize customer uptime in the most cost-effective way. This role ensures that data center problems are identified and repaired quickly, that contractors deliver quality services, and that internal customer demands are met. In this position, you will develop creative approaches to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and implement new strategies. Your responsibilities will include managing mechanical systems such as chilled water systems and HVAC systems, as well as electrical responsibilities that involve critical power distribution from the Utility/Generator main switchgear through the UPS systems out to the customer load. You will also oversee fire life safety responsibilities, including wet sprinkler systems and pre-action sprinkler systems, along with their associated detection devices. The role requires testing the performance of electromechanical assemblies and electronic voltmeters, reading blueprints and schematics, and inspecting parts for surface defects. You will be expected to operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems, ensuring that the data center operates at maximum operational efficiency. Your day-to-day tasks will involve analyzing systems to ensure best practices for both internal and external customers, providing feedback to DCO Engineering on the effectiveness of existing standards and processes, and working with contractors and consultants to review quality assurance for all system expansions, corrections, and upgrades. You will also collaborate with the CF Ops Lead Technician to track and complete an aggressive preventive and predictive maintenance program, ensuring that the data center operates efficiently and effectively while avoiding unplanned customer-impacting events. Regular, predictable attendance is essential to satisfactory performance in this role.
