About the position

The Data Center Technician L2 at NTT DATA plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the data center's electrical, mechanical, and fire life safety systems. This position requires a working level of data center knowledge and involves maintaining processes that maximize customer uptime in a cost-effective manner. The technician is responsible for quickly identifying and repairing data center problems, ensuring that contractors deliver quality services, and meeting internal customer demands. In this role, the technician will develop creative approaches to minimize operational costs, improve efficiency, and implement new strategies. Responsibilities include managing mechanical systems such as chilled water systems and HVAC units, overseeing electrical power distribution from utility sources through UPS systems, and ensuring the functionality of fire life safety systems including sprinkler systems and detection devices. The technician will also be involved in testing electromechanical assemblies, reading blueprints and schematics, inspecting parts for defects, and installing electrical components using hand tools. The technician will operate, monitor, and maintain facilities systems, responding to abnormal conditions across mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, and building monitoring systems. They will analyze systems to ensure best practices for both internal and external customers, provide feedback to engineering teams, and work with contractors to ensure quality assurance for system expansions and upgrades. Additionally, the technician will collaborate with the CF Ops Lead Technician to track and complete preventive and predictive maintenance programs, ensuring the data center operates at maximum efficiency and avoiding unplanned customer-impacting events. Regular attendance and adherence to safety protocols are essential for satisfactory performance in this role.
