The Data Center Technician L2 at NTT DATA plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the data center's electrical, mechanical, and fire life safety systems. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of data center operations, focusing on maximizing customer uptime while minimizing operational costs. The technician will be responsible for maintaining and following processes that ensure the data center operates efficiently and effectively. This includes identifying and quickly resolving data center issues, ensuring contractors deliver quality services, and meeting internal customer demands. In this role, the technician will handle various responsibilities, including mechanical tasks related to chilled water systems and HVAC systems, electrical duties involving power distribution, and fire life safety responsibilities concerning sprinkler systems and detection devices. The technician will also be expected to test the performance of electromechanical assemblies, read blueprints and schematics, inspect parts for defects, and install electrical or electronic components using hand tools. Additionally, the technician will operate, monitor, and maintain facilities systems, ensuring best practices are followed for both internal and external customers. The Data Center Technician L2 will work closely with the CF Ops Lead Technician to track and complete a preventive and predictive maintenance program, ensuring the data center operates at maximum efficiency. This includes analyzing existing operating conditions, recommending new technologies, and implementing strategies for cost reduction. The technician will also provide feedback to DCO Engineering regarding the effectiveness of existing standards and processes, and collaborate with contractors and consultants to ensure quality assurance for system expansions and upgrades. Regular attendance and the ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities are essential for satisfactory performance in this role.
