About the position

The Data Center Technician role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) involves supporting the operations of AWS data centers, ensuring their availability and reliability. This position requires participation in a primary responder rotation, monitoring infrastructure, and coordinating responses to operational incidents. Technicians will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with various teams to maintain high service standards while providing technical support and troubleshooting for data center operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform server rack installations and hardware break-fix on various components.
• Troubleshoot network issues and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability.
• Serve as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers and vendors.
• Perform on-call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
• Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
• Help train and onboard new team members.

Requirements

• 1+ years of relevant experience in data center operations, IT support, or a similar technical field.
• 1+ years of troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve undefined technical problems.
• Willingness to participate in a primary responder rotation and support 24/7 data center operations.
• An Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional or military experience in a relevant field.
