About the position

As a Data Center Technician Level 1, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of our data center. This position involves working closely with Data Center Leads to assist in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of servers, networking equipment, and cabling. You will be expected to understand the overall ticket management process, which is essential for tracking and resolving issues efficiently. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the field of data center operations. In your day-to-day responsibilities, you will start to learn and apply diagnostic methods to troubleshoot various data center equipment. This includes pulling required inventory as defined by the inventory process with a high degree of accuracy and updating inventory systems as necessary. You will also begin to understand and apply server repair methods, which may involve repairing servers by replacing hard drives, bad sticks of RAM, motherboards, and other components as needed. Additionally, you will physically assist in moving and racking equipment as directed for special projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely. Other tasks may be assigned by management as required, providing you with a diverse range of experiences in the data center environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform other tasks as required by management.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent in a technology-related field is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of and hands-on experience with computer hardware.
  • High level of written and oral fluency in English.
  • Self-motivated, professional, and high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Strong ability to multi-task.
  • Able to safely lift and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
