About the position

TEKsystems is seeking multiple Level 2 Data Center Technicians to join a large, well-known software company in Hillsboro, OR. This role involves troubleshooting server issues, managing hardware replacements, and assisting network administrators with server configurations and maintenance. The position offers a great opportunity for individuals with a strong background in data center operations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot a variety of servers and isolate the problems they encounter.
• Order replacement parts and install them in servers, shipping back defective parts to vendors.
• Update firmware on servers to ensure the latest version is installed.
• Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
• Assist network admins with server-related issues, including replacing cables and upgrading parts.
• Temporarily rack and stack servers or switches in cabinets and cable them for remote access.
• Assist network admins with specific requests regarding servers or switches.
• Support Level 1 responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of data center technician experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and isolating issues on servers, not just part swaps.
• Experience with rack/stack and configuration of servers and other data center gear.
• Hands-on wiring and cabling experience.
• Break/Fix experience and actual troubleshooting, not just remote hands.
