About the position

As a Data Center Technician (DCT) Manager, you will lead a team of technicians in a night shift environment, providing expert guidance on hardware deployment, diagnostics, and decommissioning. Your role will involve supporting technician performance, prioritizing tasks, and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This position is crucial in delivering core infrastructure for online services and offers opportunities for professional development and training.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of technicians, providing coaching and support.
• Monitor and evaluate technician performance against KPIs and SLAs.
• Guide technicians on standard procedures for IT data center technology.
• Review and advise on process modifications to improve service quality and efficiency.
• Coordinate training for technicians on installation and deployment procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data center policies and procedures.
• Manage service delivery objectives and participate in pilot programs.
• Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Promote a positive team environment and encourage feedback for improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
• 3+ years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• 1+ year of experience directing, supervising, or managing others.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to meet customer and government security screening requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of experience supporting IT equipment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of experience supporting IT equipment.
• 3+ years of experience in a production, mission-critical 24x7x365 data center environment.
• Applicable certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), and Six Sigma Green Belt.
• 2+ years of experience leading a diverse team.
