About the position

As a Data Center Technician at Rhodium Shared Services LLC, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data center facilities. This position is based in Rockdale, TX, and operates on a night shift schedule, starting at 7 PM and typically spanning 40 hours per week over four days, allowing for three days off. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring the infrastructure, responding to any issues that arise, and maintaining the cleanliness of the site operations. You will be trained to recognize and address problems according to established protocols, ensuring that any significant issues are escalated to management promptly. In this role, you will be expected to perform daily visual inspections and report any findings, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly cared for and maintained. You will collaborate with the inventory team to keep cleaning and operational supplies stocked, and you will perform routine cleaning tasks that may include dusting, sweeping, washing floors, sanitizing bathrooms, and waste disposal. Your ability to interact respectfully with external vendors and partners will be essential, as will your proficiency in operating various equipment such as floor sweepers, scrubbers, forklifts, and scissor lifts. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong desire for structured work, reliability, and flexibility regarding scheduling and workflow. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and identify infrastructure failures; respond by following necessary protocols and escalate to management appropriately.
  • Complete daily visual inspections and reporting.
  • Ensure proper care and handling in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Work cross functionally with inventory team to ensure all cleaning, maintenance, and operational supplies are stocked.
  • Perform routine cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements, including dusting, sweeping, washing floors, sanitizing bathrooms, and waste disposal.
  • Interact respectfully with all external vendors/partners/subcontractors.
  • Operate equipment, including but not limited to floor sweeper, floor scrubber, forklift, and scissor lift.
  • Maintain working knowledge of infrastructure, data center operations, and cleaning methods.
  • Comply with all safety requirements, including OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Prior technical or construction/laborer experience preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined - has an aptitude for mechanical systems and components.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Must be able to perform physical labor, often in high-heat situations.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, communication, and results oriented.
