About the position

The Data Center Technician role is a critical position within the operations team, responsible for ensuring the technical and operational support of the North Las Vegas Regional Management Center. This on-site position focuses on maintaining system uptime, troubleshooting network issues, and managing various technical tasks related to communications networks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure 99.99% system uptime with zero defects.
• Perform system monitoring and routine preventive maintenance.
• Track customer problems and resolve network issues.
• Manage system administration and network monitoring.
• Plan and coordinate the implementation of new products into the production environment.
• Monitor system limitations to maximize capacity and efficiency.
• Maintain equipment inventory and configuration management records.
• Ensure compliance with Data Center Standards and ITIL standards.
• Respond to escalation and emergency requests in a 24/7 environment.
• Monitor power, HVAC, fire detection, and security systems.
• Proactively identify issues and create tickets for resolution.

Requirements

• AA degree, electronics school certification, or equivalent military training and experience.
• 2+ years of experience as a technician in SATCOM/Terrestrial environment with LAN/WAN industry standards.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP and Ethernet configuration.

Nice-to-haves

• Industry certifications (Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Cisco, CompTIA, ITIL).
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux systems.
• Basic electronics troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of satellite and terrestrial technology (DSL, WIFI, Cable).
• Experience with Cisco, HNS, CATV/IPTV and other Telco and IP protocol core network.
