About the position

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician to join our team at Orion Global Managed Services in Secaucus, NJ. This is an on-site 1099 contract role, offering a competitive pay rate of $28 per hour. The primary focus of this position is to provide hands-on support for all network-related tasks within the data center environment. The technician will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient network operations, which includes performing basic network cabling, providing escort services for third-party vendors, and maintaining clear communication with customers regarding any issues or updates. In this role, the technician will deploy, configure, and support network infrastructure within the data center. They will also be tasked with troubleshooting minor network issues and escalating more complex problems to higher-tier support teams. Collaboration with a team to support operational continuity across multiple sites is essential. The technician may also need to travel to Spoke locations as needed to provide on-site support, with prior arrangements made in advance. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of hands-on experience in network support roles, along with basic technical support skills in a data center environment. Familiarity with ticketing systems, such as ServiceNow, is preferred. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in network support roles.
  • Basic technical support skills in a data center environment.
  • Networking knowledge, including basic cable management and troubleshooting.
  • Experience using a ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow) is preferred.
  • Professional Accreditations: A+; Network+; CCT preferred.
