About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Center Technician to join our IT team in Dallas, TX. This position is crucial for maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of our data center environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing servers, network infrastructure, and monitoring systems to ensure the seamless operation of all Data Center activities. This role requires a strong background in Azure, networking, and data center management, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively. As a Data Center Technician, you will be tasked with overseeing the daily operations of the data center, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. You will work closely with other IT professionals to implement best practices for data center management and to maintain high levels of service availability. Your expertise in cloud-based solutions, particularly Microsoft Azure, will be essential in supporting our infrastructure and enhancing our capabilities. In addition to technical skills, the role demands excellent communication abilities, as you will need to collaborate with team members and provide updates on system performance and issues. The position is onsite and is expected to last for a duration of 12+ months, making it a long-term opportunity for the right candidate.

Requirements

• Proficiency in networking technologies and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
• Experience with monitoring and management tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, Grafana).
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
