About the position

The Data Center Technician role involves supporting the decommissioning and maintenance of data center equipment. The technician will follow established procedures to ensure proper installation, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of hardware, while also performing physical audits and quality checks to maintain safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Remove network cables as part of a datacenter decommission
• Run, label, and stage power and networking cables
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures
• Prepare, stage, set up, and perform basic startups and shutdowns for hardware
• Conduct physical audits of datacenter assets
• Perform post-execution quality checks and verify proper setup according to safety protocols
• Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes following standard procedures
• Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components
• 6 months of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent

Benefits
