About the position

Randstad Digital is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician to maintain and support data center operations in Lynchburg, VA. The role involves hardware installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and collaboration with team members to ensure efficient data center functionality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support data center operations, including hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Manage server hardware, with a preference for UCS experience (training available for those unfamiliar).
• Handle Fibre Channel connections and related tasks.
• Perform basic storage management and maintenance on both Linux and Windows systems.
• Conduct firmware updates and ensure the integrity of all data center equipment.
• Collaborate with the Data Center Manager and other team members as needed.
• Respond to off-hours emergencies as required, with flexibility in scheduling.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in a data center environment.
• Proficient in hardware and server maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with Fibre Channel technologies is a plus.
• Experience working with ITSM ticketing platforms, with ServiceNow experience being a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• 3-5 years working in data center support or comparable hands-on technical IT support role.
• Collaboration with outside 3rd party vendors.
