About the position

The Data Center Technician role involves preparing, staging, setting up, and performing startups and shutdowns of IT equipment in a data center environment. Technicians will troubleshoot and diagnose issues, replace faulty components, and decommission hardware as needed, all while following standard procedures and protocols. This position requires effective communication and collaboration with other teams to ensure project completion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stage, and set up IT equipment according to specific instructions and protocols.
• Perform startups and shutdowns of racks, hard drives, and switches.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues following standard procedures.
• Quickly identify causes of issues and replace faulty components.
• Decommission hardware for upgrades and refreshes with minimal guidance.
• Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to Data Center Technician Leads.
• Collaborate with cabling and logistics teams to complete projects.

Requirements

• Experience with troubleshooting desktops, networks, servers, and IT equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills and customer service orientation.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
