About the position

National company has multiple openings for Data Center Technician, located in Fort Collins, Colorado. This position will involve a range of responsibilities including testing, repair, and installation of enterprise servers and devices. It will involve mechanical assembly, functional test and detailed documentation of results. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and installing servers and devices into the Data Center environment, working with multiple teams to coordinate system configuration and installation, and supporting network administration functions. Additionally, the role will require support for VMware, connecting infrastructure cables, system interconnect cables, labeling, and completing documentation to reflect the system installation details and changes. Following cable management guidelines and installation best practices is essential, as well as running diagnostics and verifying systems functionality after installation. Documenting system location, networking configuration, and system status is also a key responsibility, along with troubleshooting and debugging systems under test and communicating with remote teams as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Build and install Servers and devices into Data Center environment
  • Work with multiple teams to coordinate system configuration and installation
  • Support Network Administration functions
  • Support VMware
  • Connect infrastructure cables, system interconnect cables, label and complete documentation to reflect the system installation details and changes
  • Follow cable management guidelines and installation best-practices

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • Good Computer skills
  • Experience working in Linux environment helpful
  • Time Management skills and ability to work independently
  • Linux Administration (1 year of experience is required)
  • Computer Hardware Experience (1 year of experience is required)

Nice-to-haves

  • Data Center Engineering (1 year of experience is preferred)
  • Hardware Installation (1 year of experience is preferred)
  • Network Administration (1 year of experience is preferred)
  • VMware (1 year of experience is preferred)
