About the position

The Data Center Technician role involves hands-on work with advanced equipment in a state-of-the-art facility, supporting data center operations and ensuring the smooth functionality of infrastructure. The position is part of a dynamic team focused on innovative customer engagement solutions, emphasizing collaboration to maintain the reliability and organization of data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain various hardware, including compute, network, storage, racks, and cabling.
  • Track and manage inventory efficiently using specialized tools.
  • Perform hardware replacements and ensure all installations meet established standards.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of both physical and digital environments.
  • Handle shipping and receiving duties, including tracking and processing RMAs.
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure optimal functionality.

Requirements

  • Experience in cabling and hardware replacement within a data center environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate inventory records and a clean workspace.
  • Proficiency with computer skills: Experience with tracking tools like Sunbird DCTrack and familiarity with Excel.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with console management tools such as Opengear.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux commands.
  • Experience with scripting tools like OpenStack for automation.
