About the position

The Data Center Technician will be responsible for maintaining the operations of the data center, ensuring that all hardware and network systems are functioning efficiently and securely. This role requires hands-on experience with data center equipment and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and maintenance in a high-stakes environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and decommissioning of data center equipment, including servers, network devices, and power supplies.
  • Monitor and maintain data center infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency, uptime, and security.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and network issues, escalating problems when necessary.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on all data center equipment.
  • Assist with power distribution, cabling, and rack management.
  • Follow all safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Document configurations, installations, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Support cross-functional teams and communicate with third-party vendors as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience working in a data center or similar technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of server hardware, networking, and cabling.
  • Familiarity with operating systems, such as Linux, and basic scripting experience is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and install heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
  • English Speaking (mandarin a plus).
