About the position

CoreWeave is a specialized cloud provider, delivering a massive scale of GPU compute resources on top of the industry's fastest and most flexible infrastructure. The Data Center Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the overall availability and reliability of data center operations, which is essential for meeting or exceeding defined service levels. This position involves a variety of tasks including hardware and network diagnostics, physical repairs, and participation in an on-call rotation. The technician will be responsible for maintaining data center operations, conducting hardware and network diagnostics and repairs, performing root cause analysis of hardware and software failures, and providing technical support to data center teams. Additionally, the technician will be involved in the training of internal teams, development of documentation, and the creation of scripts to update server and networking hardware. The role also requires maintaining inventory, assembling and installing equipment, and performing maintenance on test and tools equipment. Occasional travel to other data centers may be required as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain data center operations to ensure availability and reliability of service levels
  • Conduct hardware and network diagnostics and repairs
  • Perform root cause analysis of hardware and software failures
  • Train internal teams
  • Develop documentation
  • Provide technical support to data center teams
  • Develop scripts to update server and networking hardware
  • Maintain inventory
  • Assemble and install equipment
  • Perform maintenance of test and tools equipment
  • Occasional travel to other data centers as needed

Requirements

  • Computer Hardware experience (troubleshooting, assembling)
  • Linux Operating System experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and/or work in elevated locations
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment and participate in on-call rotation
  • Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills
  • Hands-on or educational experience in Computer Hardware, including troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Five years of Data Center experience (minimum)
  • Computer Networking experience
  • Experience with Python, Bash or other scripting languages
  • Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS
  • An Associates Degree or equivalent experience in an IT related field
