About the position

The Data Center Technician role is an entry-level position focused on learning and assisting in the installation and maintenance of cabling infrastructure within a data center. Technicians will work under the guidance of experienced technicians and team leads to develop skills in cable pulling, fiber termination, and installation of cable trays and server racks.

Responsibilities

• Drop cable down a wall using fish tape or other method.
• Route cable through the data center.
• Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, form, dress cables and determine length, slack and label cables.
• Suspend and support cable correctly using cable tray, J-hook, D-rings, bridal rings, and trapeze.
• Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.
• Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, pull cable through sleeves and core penetration.
• Terminate low-voltage devices.
• Follow prints.
• Adhere to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Entry-level position with a willingness to learn cabling techniques.
• Basic understanding of cable installation and termination processes.
• Ability to follow safety and quality standards.
