About the position

The Data Center Technician role at Maxonic involves maintaining data center facilities to support client needs. This position is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency of the cloud infrastructure used by millions. Technicians will work on-site, handling hardware replacements and assisting with regular maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain data center facilities around the globe.
• Replace ticketed components such as HDD, SSD, DIMM, PSU, and fans.
• Receive and send packages for replaced components (RMAs).
• Assist with regular site maintenance activities including inventory and cleanup.
• Escalate complex or abnormal issues on site to the DCO team.

Requirements

• Experience with desktop PC and/or data center server hardware.
• Intermediate knowledge of Linux and operational understanding of DNS zone files.
• Experience using version control systems such as Git or Hg.
• Basic scripting skills and familiarity with regular expressions.
• Ability to lift 20-30 lbs on a daily basis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time and project management skills.
