About the position

The Data Center Technician role at Insight Global involves preparing, staging, setting up, and performing startups and shutdowns of various IT equipment in a data center environment. Technicians will be responsible for troubleshooting and diagnostics, ensuring hardware is functioning correctly, and decommissioning hardware as needed. This position requires collaboration with cabling and logistics teams to complete projects efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stage, and set up IT equipment such as racks, hard drives, and switches according to specific instructions and protocols.
• Perform startups and shutdowns of data center equipment following standard procedures.
• Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues with IT equipment.
• Replace faulty components and decommission hardware for upgrades and refreshes with minimal guidance.
• Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads as necessary.
• Collaborate with cabling and logistics teams to complete necessary projects.

Requirements

• Experience with troubleshooting desktops, networks, servers, and IT equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills and customer service orientation.
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
