About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Data Center Technician to manage infrastructure installation requests, support building Power Downs/Single Sided Events, and coordinate with various teams to ensure service levels are met. This role offers an opportunity for long-term contract employment in the data center industry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee infrastructure installation requests from start to finish
• Support in executing building Power Downs/Single Sided Events
• Collaborate with the BAU team to provide additional infrastructure
• Coordinate with electrical contractor to ensure all Service Levels are met
• Document requirements and provide detailed estimates of assigned projects through direct communication with other IT or Project Management team members
• Monitor and manage power remediation processes
• Assist with rack level capacity management and MOA monitoring
• Participate in meetings pertaining to BAU or projects INF work
• Coordinate the Infrastructure Installs including but not limited to Power installs, Infrastructure & Rack installs, and Infrastructure Cabling (Fiber and copper)
• Manage equipment procurement including ordering of all infrastructure materials, tracking Purchase Orders, and maintaining Infrastructure Stock.

Requirements

• Must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Center Technician or in a similar role
• Proficiency in Network Operations Center (NOC) operations and maintenance is required
• Demonstrated experience with Cable Assemblies and Cable Installation
• Must have a strong understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies
• Experience with Cisco Hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance is a prerequisite
• Familiarity with SAN - Storage Area Network is a must
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
• Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
• An associate degree in computer science, IT, or a related field would be advantageous
• Detail oriented certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar are preferred.
