About the position

The Data Center Technician role involves working on large-scale IT cabling projects within a data center environment. Technicians will be responsible for constructing the cable infrastructure, including installation and termination of various types of cabling, while adhering to safety and quality standards. This position offers opportunities for career advancement in the data center and telecom industry.

Responsibilities

• Run, terminate, and install IT cabling (Cat5, Cat6, Coaxial, and Fiber Optics).
• Install grounding for server racks, equipment, and cable as required (heavy Cisco environment).
• Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, and on low voltage devices.
• Terminate low-voltage devices and IT hardware (cameras, servers, switches, etc.).
• Follow blueprints precisely to ensure the work is being carried out correctly.
• Fully complete all paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, and others as required).
• Adhere to and participate in all company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Proven experience in IT cabling and infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work independently and lead small teams.
• Strong understanding of color codes and cable termination techniques.
• Proficiency with basic hand/power tools.
• Punctual, team player, and flexible with hours.
