About the position

The Data Center Technician is responsible for ensuring the overall availability and reliability of data center operations to meet or exceed defined service levels. This role involves performing hardware and network diagnostics, physical repairs, and participating in an on-call rotation as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain data center operations to ensure availability and reliability of service levels
• Conduct hardware and network diagnostics
• Perform hardware and network repairs
• Assemble and install equipment
• Create documentation and manage inventory
• Use troubleshooting skills and innovate solutions to fix complex problems within the Data Center space
• Perform maintenance of test and tools equipment
• Occasional travel to other data centers as needed

Requirements

• Computer Hardware experience (troubleshooting, assembling)
• Linux Operating System experience
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and/or work in elevated locations
• Ability to work in a 24/7 environment and participate in on-call rotation
• Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues
• Hands-on or educational experience in Computer Hardware, Data Center, or Computer Networking
• Experience with Python, Bash or other scripting languages
• Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS
• An Associates Degree or equivalent experience in an IT related field
