About the position

The Data Center Technician role at Expedite Solutions involves hands-on work in a fast-paced data center environment, focusing on the installation, testing, and maintenance of servers and network assets. The technician will perform tasks such as rack and stack operations, cabling installation, and troubleshooting, while collaborating with team members to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack and stack on servers and network assets in a data center.
• Install and test fiber and copper cabling.
• Terminate copper cabling as needed.
• Reboot devices and demonstrate general familiarity with server operations.
• Use a Fluke cable tester for testing cabling.
• Work on ladders 7-8 feet off the floor.
• Install servers weighing up to 40-50 lbs, utilizing a server lift and teamwork.
• Participate in troubleshooting calls and communicate with clients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience working in a data center environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.

Nice-to-haves

• Customer service experience.
• Experience using a Fluke cable tester.
• Outside accreditations related to data center operations.
