About the position

Randstad US is seeking multiple Data Center Technicians for a permanent position located in Fort Collins, Colorado. The role involves a variety of responsibilities centered around the testing, repair, and installation of enterprise servers and devices within a data center environment. The successful candidate will engage in mechanical assembly, conduct functional tests, and maintain detailed documentation of all results. This position is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency of the data center and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration with various teams. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for building and installing servers and devices, coordinating system configurations, and supporting network administration functions. You will also be expected to support VMware, connect infrastructure and system interconnect cables, and ensure that all installations adhere to cable management guidelines and best practices. Running diagnostics and verifying system functionality post-installation is a key part of the role, as is documenting system locations, networking configurations, and system statuses. Troubleshooting and debugging systems under test, while communicating effectively with remote teams, will also be part of your daily tasks. This is an immediate full-time position with a work schedule from 8 AM to 4 PM, offering a competitive salary range of $45,000 to $52,000 per year. Candidates should possess an associate degree or equivalent experience, along with strong computer skills and the ability to work independently. Experience in a Linux environment is beneficial, and time management skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Build and install Servers and devices into Data Center environment
  • Work with multiple teams to coordinate system configuration and installation
  • Support Network Administration functions
  • Support VMware
  • Connect infrastructure cables, system interconnect cables, label and complete documentation to reflect the system installation details and changes
  • Follow cable management guidelines and installation best-practices
  • Run diagnostics and verify systems functionality after install
  • Document system location, networking configuration and system status
  • Troubleshoot and debug system under test and communicate with remote teams as needed

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • Good Computer skills
  • Experience working in Linux environment helpful
  • Time Management skills and ability to work independently
  • Linux Administration (1 year of experience required)
  • Computer Hardware Experience (1 year of experience required)

  • Data Center Engineering (1 year of experience preferred)
  • Hardware Installation (1 year of experience preferred)
