About the position

The Data Center Technician will be responsible for performing essential operations in a fast-paced data center environment, focusing on rack and stack operations for servers and network assets. This role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and effective communication with clients while maintaining productivity in a busy setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack and stack operations for servers and network assets.
• Install and test fiber and copper cabling, ensuring proper termination of copper connections.
• Reboot devices and demonstrate a general familiarity with server operations.
• Utilize a Fluke cable tester to verify the integrity of cabling installations.
• Work on ladders 7-8 feet off the floor to install equipment.
• Install servers weighing up to 40-50 lbs using a server lift and in team settings.
• Participate in troubleshooting calls and communicate effectively with clients.
• Maintain a high level of productivity in a busy data center environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years working in a data center environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Teams.
• Strong teachability and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Outside accreditations related to data center operations or IT.
• Customer service experience.
• Experience using a Fluke cable tester.
