About the position

The Data Center Technician at Hut 8 is responsible for maintaining and repairing state-of-the-art computing and networking equipment to ensure high uptime and efficient operations. This role involves routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, while working under general supervision. The technician will also be involved in data analysis and may lead projects as directed by management. The position requires adaptability to changing technologies and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform general facility duties as assigned
• Understand operations and infrastructure of the site
• Conduct basic miner diagnostics and repairs
• Utilize intro mechanical skills
• Operate miner tools
• Perform intermediate repairs
• Engage in data analysis
• Apply intermediary mechanical skills
• Flash firmware on devices
• Lead projects at the discretion of supervisor/operations manager
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3+ years' experience in IT/computer hardware, systems/electrical engineering, network administration, and/or troubleshooting
• Basic understanding of IP addressing and subnets
• Understanding of small electronics or medium to low voltage electrical systems
• Ability to be a problem solver and diligent worker
• Flexibility and teamwork skills
• Experience in Bitcoin mining farm is a plus
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
• Ability to be on feet for 7+ hours per day
• Ability to lift/carry 30-50 lbs
• Tolerance to harsh conditions, including cold and hot environments

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in construction and/or maintenance
• Familiarity with Bitcoin mining operations
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
