About the position

The Data Center Technician will be responsible for the operations and maintenance at the client's data center, taking daily direction from the client's engineering leadership on-site. This role involves supporting all data center engineering and technology operations, facility and grounds maintenance, and ensuring the operational performance readiness, reliability, and integrity of mission-critical infrastructure systems and IT systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support all data center engineering and technology operations.
  • Perform facility and grounds maintenance.
  • Manage material movement including shipping/receiving and inventory management.
  • Conduct detailed physical inventory tracking and staging.
  • Read and understand cabling maps.
  • Perform Data Center pre-cabling to industry standards.
  • Initiate or respond to work orders, follow up, and verify completion.
  • Manage or navigate various client-based applications for work order tracking, materials ordering, and scheduling.
  • Utilize mobile application technology for operational tasks.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of how to properly utilize power tools.
  • Ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Ability to lift over 50lbs.
  • Ability to work at different heights, in confined spaces, and on different surfaces.
  • Working knowledge on creating, closing, and tracking work orders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to respond timely via MS Outlook, MS Teams, text, and/or phone.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with workplace IT systems for reporting, timecards, and expense entry.
  • Familiarity with client-based applications like SalesForce, ADP, and Expensify.
