About the position

The Data Center Technician position at TEKsystems involves working in a large data center in Prineville, Oregon, focusing on cable installation and maintenance. Responsibilities

• Pulling cable, innerduct, and dressing cables to industry and customer standards.
• Labeling and cleaning fiber connections.
• Carrying and loading materials for job use.
• Installing fiber and telecom systems, including Cat5 and Cat6.
• Maintaining cleanliness of vehicles and equipment.
• Performing physical tasks such as climbing ladders and assembling server cabinets.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of prior IT-related experience, preferably with data center or cabling experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong work ethic.

Nice-to-haves

• Cabling experience (coax, fiber, Cat5, Cat6, punch downs) is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn and train in cabling.
