About the position

Leapros Skilled Trades is seeking Data Center Technicians for contract positions in the South Bend, IN area. The role involves working in a new construction environment, focusing on the installation and troubleshooting of low-voltage cabling systems. Technicians will collaborate with other trades to ensure efficient project completion while adhering to safety standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, and secure low-voltage cables including CAT 5/6, coaxial, and fiber optics.
• Install support structures, such as cable trays and conduit, for efficient cable routing.
• Troubleshoot cable infrastructure on commercial or industrial projects, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
• Collaborate with other trades and team members to complete projects.
• Rack and stack, closet work, and assembling server racks.

Requirements

• Data center experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of universal color codes for cable identification and labeling.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Possession of necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and basic hand tools.
• Reliable transportation.

Nice-to-haves

• NEC BICSI Certification
• Familiarity with industry standards such as EIA, TIA, BICSI, or NEC.
