Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our Infrastructure Operations team. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity and performance of our data centers, which are the backbone of our cloud services. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving a variety of infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, and networking problems. You will work closely with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure that our data centers operate at the highest standards of safety and security, while also providing our customers with the capacity they need at the lowest possible cost. In this position, you will engage in physical activities within the data center, which may include planning and tracking capacity, deploying racks, cabling, troubleshooting hardware and software, and decommissioning racks. You will be required to lift and move materials weighing up to 49 pounds, work in cramped or elevated locations, and stand or walk for extended periods. The role may also require you to work shifts longer than 8 hours to support our 24/7 operations, which can include nights, weekends, and holidays. Our ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in server hardware and UNIX/Linux operating systems. You will take ownership of technical issues, engage with other teams to drive resolution, and maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting. We are looking for individuals who are not only technically proficient but also possess strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to innovate processes to improve effectiveness. This position offers the opportunity to work in one of the world's largest information system infrastructures, contributing to the ongoing success of AWS.
